Background
NetBit is excited to share our latest product roadmap for all 3 types of power supplies: wall mount, desktop and open frame – with a power output range from 5W to 200W. This article gives an overview of our new roadmap for 2020 with some commentary and information to help our customers choose the right power supply.
New 2020 Roadmap
Our product roadmap for 2020 is split into ‘power bands’ starting at the bottom in light blue for the low power solutions. As you move higher up in the power bands the power output increases and the band becomes a darker shade of blue.
Each power band row is split into two parts: on the left-hand side of the row are the power supplies currently in mass production and on the right-hand side are the new platforms in development.
Each platform model reference is shown within the power band. For example, NBS18E or NBC12B are the platform models. Also shown are the available case options for that model; WM for wall mount case options or DT for desktop options.

Key Updates for 2020
Our newer platforms generally offer better efficiency, lower component count and greater power density than their predecessors. Wherever possible, NetBit recommends the latest platform shown in the roadmap for that power output.
Over recent months NetBit has noted a shift in demand for certain power outputs due to market demand and new technology. For example, there has been an increase in demand for 12W, 15W and 18W PSU for IPTV clients.
We have also developed three new platforms specifically for 24W, 30W and 36W outputs for increased demand in routers and gateways, which gives engineers a specific power output that is much closer to their requirements.
At higher power NetBit is also developing a brand new NBS50A 50W and NBC56A 56W wall mount solutions for CPE broadband gateways. This now offers operators an alternative to the traditional desktop PSUs and saves the expense of AC cords.
Replacement Platforms
As part of the product lifecycle process we try to give our customers advance notification of new platform availability so that the appropriate new product is selected for new projects. For example, the 18W NBS18D will be replaced by the NBS18E. Other replacement products are noted below:
| Legacy Platform(s)* | New Replacement Platform(s) |
| 18W NBS18D | 18W NBS18E |
| 24W NBS24J, NBS24K | 24W NBS24M |
| 30W NBS30D, NBS30F | 30W NBS30G |
* Please note that NetBit will continue to support the legacy platforms for existing products in mass production until you are advised otherwise.
Summary
Our roadmap for 2020 covers all the power outputs required for any type of CPE application and we’re confident that we can support your product. If the power output isn’t listed in our current roadmap then please get in touch: sales@netbit.com.
